As a professional USCG Master Mariner, sailing instructor, and the owner of Sail Quest, LLC, Captain John Hines brings dedicated command and extensive offshore experience to every vessel delivery. Specializing in long-range coastal and blue-water passages, John has commanded diverse vessels—including modern cruising catamarans, classic monohulls, and powerboats—through complex routes spanning the Caribbean Sea, the Gulf of Mexico, and all the way up the Atlantic Seaboard to Connecticut. Beyond his thousands of miles of proven seamanship and weather routing, John possesses deep technical expertise in marine engineering, including diesel engines, onboard electrical systems, and marine plumbing. This background allows him to confidently troubleshoot systems issues at sea and ensure that every vessel under his care is managed with strict preventative maintenance and unparalleled professionalism.
Captain Mark Walker
Mark Walker is a seasoned US Sailing Instructor with over a decade of experience sailing across the Caribbean and Gulf Coast waters. He has done multiple deliveries through Caribbean waters, enhancing both his sailing expertise and appreciation for the region’s unique challenges. An advocate for marine conservation, Mark emphasizes the importance of preserving ocean ecosystems in his teaching, focusing on creating a supportive and empowering learning environment for sailors of all skill levels.
